DRR GENERATOR
MRR is so last month.
ARR is the new hotness.
DRR is the future.
Decennial Recurring Revenue counts ten years of revenue you haven't made yet, so the number is much bigger. Answer a few questions about your company and post the card.
Everything happens in your browser. The answers live in the link after the #, so the link is the card. Send it to anyone and they get the same number.
How DRR works
Every era of software gets the metric it deserves.
MRR
Monthly Recurring Revenue. One month of money. Honest, small and a bit embarrassing on a slide.
ARR
Annual Recurring Revenue. MRR times twelve. Same money, bigger number, nobody asks which month you multiplied.
DRR
Decennial Recurring Revenue. Ten years of ARR, compounding. Most of it hasn't happened yet, which is what makes it so big.
The model
ARR = MRR × 12
growth = 2 + agentic / 50 + pivots / 4 + vibes / 100 (+ 0.5 for a gradient logo), up to 12x
DRR = ARR × (1 + growth + growth2 + … + growth9)
DRR = $0 if AI will kill us all
| Checkbox | MRR | Why |
|---|
Actual revenue is collected for completeness and then ignored. The model has never needed it.
Founders on DRR
"We were embarrassed by our ARR. Then we multiplied it by ten and stopped being embarrassed."
"The board asked for a five year plan. We gave them ten. They stopped asking."
"I ticked the AI box by accident and our DRR went to zero. Honestly it was a relief."
Made-up quotes from made-up founders at made-up companies.
Questions
Is DRR a real metric?
It is now. You're looking at it.
Why ten years?
It's the longest stretch that still sounds like a plan. A century sounds like a religion.
Why does less sleep mean more DRR?
Every successful founder we made up sleeps four hours. The model is trained on them.
What does the "AI will kill us all" box do?
It sets DRR to $0. Ten years of revenue assumes there are ten years. MRR and ARR stay on the card, so you can see what you would have had.
Can I put this in my deck?
The MADE UP stamp and the yellow strip are part of the PNG. You can crop one of them. The axis still says $$$$.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. There's no server, no form that submits and no analytics. Your answers live in the link, and the link lives wherever you paste it.
